During a dental examination, the dentist evaluates the hard tissues (teeth and existing fillings), periodontal health (gums), and soft tissues (tongue, cheeks, hard and soft palate). X-rays and clinical photographs may also be taken to support diagnosis and aid in patient education.

All X-rays must be clinically justified, and any required X-rays (bitewings and periapical) will be provided at no additional cost.
The dentist will carry out a clinical assessment and, where necessary, a radiographic examination to reach a diagnosis. The findings and available treatment options will be fully explained. If required, a temporary restoration may be placed during this appointment.
